MCEDC IS SEEKING A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

Executive Director, McHenry County Economic Development Corporation

This position leads the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) in its mission to attract, retain and expand industry sectors key to McHenry County’s economy, and to accelerate business development while advancing equitable and inclusive growth. The MCEDC connects businesses with top talent, partnerships, resources, and prime locations for success; it also works closely with local governments, businesses, community organizations and other stakeholders to advance the economic health of McHenry County. Through the direct reporting relationship to the Corporate Board of Directors, this position will assist in building the economy of McHenry County and providing support services to foster a thriving economic environment within the county.

Education and Knowledge Required:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, real estate, public administration, economic development, urban planning, or a closely related field. Having an MBA and CEcD certification is a plus.

• Professional certification for economic development is desired.

• A minimum of five years of progressive operations leadership experience in a comparable organization, either for-profit or not-for-profit, overseeing and working in close collaboration with a volunteer board of directors and investor committees.

Anticipated Salary Range: $100,000 to $125,000 +/- DOQ

Manufacturing Pathways

Manufacturing Pathways is a Consortium composed of manufacturers, educators, and community partners, who are collaborating to secure a talent pipeline of highly-skilled manufacturing employees.

To do so, the Consortium raises awareness of career opportunities within the industry; connecting with educators, students, and parents, and debunking outdated myths about the industry.

Consortium members are working to identify technical and employability skill gaps, and develop solutions. Additionally, the consortium engages in collaborative hiring practices, and provides a pathway to employment for non-traditional talent.
