A prosperous retail economy is vital to the area and the MCEDC works in tandem with area chambers. Chambers operate on a municipal level but often seek guidance, networking and ultimately growth opportunities by their affiliation with MCEDC.

The McHenry County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (MCCVB) was established in 2005 under the leadership of the MCEDC. Today a successful collaboration of county, municipal and private sectors enjoy the benefits of a growing tourism economy.

While the MCEDC is a regional Economic Development entity, we assist municipal EDC's in their efforts to encourage, support and positively affect their communities.
